Folks,

This forum gets intermittent use by members so do you really find it useful and should we keep it running?

Your comments please?

Cheers,

Tony.

I must admit that I don't use this forum as much as some others forums and it does go for long periods where no activity takes place and hence I only quickly log on to check for new postings and then only reply if I have something to say or ask, like now!!
If this forum is removed because no one really uses it, the only suggestion I can make is to place links from the main web site to forums that are used heavily like "Up hill racers" or Ten tenths or any other sites that are required to cover the motorsport disciplines that Woolbridge covers so members can still raise their various topics/questions on their chosen subject.

ps: I think this is my longest post on here to date??

Thanks Red21 for your comments, but I would like a few more comments to keep it going. I will leave it a little longer and see what happens.

Cheers,

Tony.

I'm a regular user of the FDMC forum. Interestingly the FDMC has about half the membership of the Woolbridge, but 112 forum users against 93. The FDMC forum has been running since May 2005.
We use the forum a lot, for getting news & info to members, providing links for regs etc.
No disrespect meant, but do Woolbridge members know about it's forum? Perhaps a high profile piece in the magazine, followed by a regular reminder in subsequent issues may help.
What about a more obvious link on the Woolbridge home page, say in the text, rather than the list in the sidebar.
It would be a shame to lose the forum, as they do have a lot to offer members, as the FDMC one shows. It took a few months for that to really get going, but we think it's working very well now.
I do know other clubs with forums have had similar issues, so this is nothing new.
As the saying goes "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink!"

Just to say I have now done an article, which will appear in the next club magazine about this forum.

Cheers,

Tony.

Tony,

Unless there are any overheads involved in keeping it going (either time or financial) then it's probably worth leaving it in place and hopefully in time it'll attract more use if promoted often enough.

Steve.
