im building a 205 for the plan to rally it in the future.

i want to do sprints hillclimmbs for a year or two to larn driving skill so i dont rap the car on my first rally.

im wanting to enter modifide saloon cars up to 1400 (think it going to have to much for standerd)

i want to fit the following

fuel lines in side
brake lines in side with hydrolic handbrake, and brake bias valve, whats the ruels on this.

bucket seats and harnisess

the peugeot 205 rallye arches of a french 205 rallye.

kill switch and push button start.

1.9 gti struts and brakes, there bigger than the other 205s

i want to fit the basics first before compeating. extras can be added as time goes by. the only thing i cant aford yet is a cage, can i still compeat with out this, the car is going to be kept road legal too. tax und tested.

also can some one send post the rules for the class to. this would be a great help. pugsport dav.

Hi,

Your post raises several questions, firstly do you have a competition licence from the MSA for hillclimbs & sprints yet? If so you should have received a MSA Yearbook containing all the rules and regulations and should in the first instance read the Common Regulations in section (E), Competitor Safety (Q) and Sprinys, Hill Climbs and Drag Racing (L). These regulations are not as difficult as they at first seem and your car can easily be aligned for when you want to move across to ralling; and yes other regulations apply here.

If you do not have a licence send an e-mail to:

and I will return the necessary info and a contact number to have a chat to help you.

Speak to you soon.
Tony. Smile

hi thanks for reply, as yet i dont have a licence im trying to get one for next year, just i seem to not be able to get the msa site up. i want to get the car built well running this year and do some autotests to see what the car does etc. the first main rule check i want to know is that im putting the brake lines inside with the brake valve is this alowed. ive heard it cant be able to be alterd whist in moton. if it is fitted in the car where i cant reach when belted up. will this be ok.
thanks again. david.

For events where you cannot adjust it while the car is in motion, you must not be able adjust it while seated. As you say, if it is out of reach you cannot adjust it, which would be fine.

The other thing to remember is that you want a car to do several types of event, hillclimbs, rallying and autotests it would be prudent to read all the sets of regulations to ensure that you comply with all and that any work only has to be done once.

Also it might be worth talking to a local scrutineer; where do you live and I maybe able to sort something out for you.

Cheers,

Tony.

Hi,
I suggest that you have a read to start with of the technical info I have just mailed you and then we have a chat in which I can put you onto a scrutineer who is not far from you who you could pop along to see.

In the mailed info, it states the body modifications that are allowed for each event type and from what you ahve said they would probaly be ok, subject to seeing them and the car.

Cheers,

Tony.

Hi Tony, i've just read through this quickly but from what I can see the car could possibly be entered in standard up to 1400 what do you think Question
From what i remember if he enters as modified he'll be up against cars with no interior, lightweight panels and windows etc. It's difficult enough in standard class because engine mods are "free"

The 205 I hillclimbed Wink
